What are those eerie sounding instruments on The Ventures Walk Don’t Run 64?

I recently bought The Ventures greatest hits CD and starting from Walk Don’t Run 64 and on, there songs have this eerie sounding instrument which seems like some sort of keyboard. What is this instrument? And in similar songs some little rhythmic tapper instrument is included that sounds like a horse running. What is this instrument?

Well I have to be honest…I can only hear guitars and drums on walk don’t run 64. The "tick-i-tick-i-tick-i" noise on this track is muted guitar… The string is muffled by putting a hand on it and then is picked in rhythm.
But I’m noot sure I know what you mean by an eerie keyboard… Unless you mean the bass guitar, lol.
