Could tyhe … Could tyhe keyboardist be John Durrill?
Strange set up for the Ventures, the Hofner Violin bass and the SG guitr not typical of them at all. Great sound as always.
Its the Ventures. … Its the Ventures. Mel, Bob and Don are sporting their 70’s look, long sideburns etc. The guitarist is Gerry McGee, who plays when Nokie is away, and I don’t know the keyboardist.
Thanks. Ah, yeah … Thanks. Ah, yeah. Lot of on YouTube. I take no offense to the thumbs down anyway because I didn’t really say anything that could really provoke that. Some guy is either angry at the world or just being silly. The Ventures’ music isn’t typical music you hear really. I always pay attention to how music is arranged and stuff.
I’m very sure this … I’m very sure this was filmed at a dry lake bed called El Mirage just north of Victor Ville, Ca. That dry lake has been used for filming for many years. Been there many times.
Um. There is some … Um. There is some desert-like stuff on the West side of the big island, but you have to get out of the touristy places like Kailua Kona. I know desert, and Hawaii does it beautiful! All of Hawaii is beautiful. Earlier post says this was filmed in Mojave. Whereever. It’s still so great! This is before my time, but a timeless classic it is. Thanks for posting!
Funny, I don’t … Funny, I don’t think that there are any deserts in Hawai’i. It’s really weird, since I live on O’ahu. (Never heard of them). Wan’t me to tell you about our beautiful beaches?? One that is a 1/2 mile from my house? I really love Wai’anae. I really pitty you poor shmucks on the Mainland. =Stefan=
Morton Stevens was … Morton Stevens was so impressed with the Ventures’ version of his theme (the Hawaii Five-O main title) that he specially arranged his theme for “The Storefromt Lawyers” (changed to “Men In Law ” in midseason) for a single (it’s on “The Ventures Perform The Great T.V. Themes” C.D.). The show, however, lasted only a season, though it did boast a great main title by Stevens.
