and the bailout continues and will keep going until the american people say NO more

  3. Snowflake70 says:

    management like the …
management like the politicians can only look at the work force until they go on strike…then, if they still see them as a liability they will find out just how much THEY are the liablity along with their greed and arrogance. NEVER FORGET: absolute power corrupts absolutely. Always has, always will.

    too late..it’s done …
too late..it’s done, oh and they want ten billion from the government..you..the taxpayer

    there are no …
there are no benefits to the merger, really. SAY NO TO IT!

    for long distance …
for long distance travel like that there would still be demand for fsst transport, there will be some one willing to satisfy that demand.

    As Hussein Obama …
As Hussein Obama would say “I have to separate myself from the comments. I guess, after all these years… I did not know myself” I hate to see anyone lose their jobs, but, seriously, those NWA flight attendants are terrible. The best one I saw was a gay dude on a flight from Boston- Don’t get me started on NWA Logan Airport personnel, either

    If fuel prices …
If fuel prices keeps rising nw/delta will be out of business.

  11. JLitBakerstreet says:

    Delta actually has …
Delta actually has announced the fewest layoffs of all the major airlines. All other airlines are massively downsizing, grounding planes permanently and decreasing hubs all around the country. The bottom line is that fuel prices are skyrocketing and the airline industry the world over is taking the biggest losses since 9/11. Every major airline is getting hit hard and is forced to make some major decisions. Nobody is getting fat and rich off this deal. Look at the big picture, lady.

  12. Flankitto04 says:

the one on the left …
the one on the left needs to lose weight. Like all teachers, more whining from the union.

  13. JerryGarciafan says:

    you guys chose to …
you guys chose to work in such a volatile industry- you knew this kind of thing could happen. Why would you go to work for the airline industry and also expect job security along the lines of socialism? I call that bad judgement. If you want something to complain about on YouTube, then complain about the high oil prices. That’s the cause of this- Not DELTA. At least with this merger you may keep your job- better than losing it with an airline that would otherwise see Chapter 7 in a year or two.

  14. eisen8388 says:

    These people should …
These people should learn the details of the merger before trashing it.

    NO JOBS WILL BE LOST!

    I would rather have …
I would rather have a job as a new hire with Delta than be standing in the unemployment line when NWA goes out of business.

heh heh your being a socialist there, not just blunt.

  18. mordred612 says:

    world’s largest …
world’s largest airlines will lead to world’s largest prices. expect a price increase from this because fewer airlines mean fewer choices and less competition. consumers will pay for this and ceos will make a killing.

  19. powerfunk1 says:

    Airlines are barely …
Airlines are barely surviving as it is. Ooooh managers are looking at P&L statements; they must be evil. Oh wait, that means they’re doing their job. Business isn’t a contest to see how many people you can employ; it’s about profit.

  20. culverapex says:

    @ libertyrian, :) I …
@ libertyrian, :) I completely agree. If these giants corps can’t figure out a business model that works, let them fail so that a more innovative, competative company can make its way up the chain. I think that proping them up based on the sorry excuse that we just “CANT” let them fail or our economy will suffer… doesn’t hold up well to the facts that Trickle-down fascism does far greater damage. Not only that, but the actual cost to keep them in operation is > than their profits.

  21. ubrayj02 says:

    Airline travel …
Airline travel receives a lot of public subsidy and attention. If high speed railway were built in the U.S., with as much subsidt and attention, it is likely that train trasit times would be comparable to air travel (especially including the time Americans spend waiting to board and exit an airplane). It might be a lot cheaper as well.

    This woman doesn’t …
This woman doesn’t know what the she is talking about. Did she not see the merger details???
The combined companies currently have 77,000 and the have early retirement packages set up for more than 2,000 employees which will hit the new employment number of 75k. NO ONE IS BEING LAID OFF. It isn’t corporate greed, it is two airlines trying to survive.

She should get a freaking clue and stop talking out of her ass, because she clearly has no idea what she is talking about.

  24. FeelFreeToArgue says:

    Yet another example …
Yet another example of the corporate power and greed stepping on us. People need to wise up – if you think you’re purchasing loyalty from a company you need to get it in writing or you have nothing. That favorable zoning ruling or tax break doesn’t mean anything to them. If they’re not bound by law to stay and they can make 1 mil/widget more somewhere else, they’re outta there. This is a cardinal fact of business and everyone needs to have it top of mind when negotiating with companies.

  25. JAROSLAVAGINA says:

    dude, any idea how …
dude, any idea how long it would take to get from new york to california on a train?

granted i don’t like the fact that they are getting “corporate wellfare”, but for the intrastate level, air travel is most needed.
