How will the DEI and Ganassi merger have an effect on the RCR and DEI engine program?

Will RCR still work with DEI in the engine department seeing as there is a merger with Canassi?

have you ever heard of the old saying "two heads are better than one"? I know from experience, it’s good to consult with a partner and get a different point of view, before making any final decisions. If these two organizations utilize the smartest people they can improve on anything either one of them already has. Combining the knowledge of these two organizations will expand their applications. I think it’s great, and if they orchestrate their procedures correctly, they could find out, and eliminate some of the problems they currently have, and be stronger by unifying what recources they are working with. There will be the pain of restructuring their employees, but it’s the compromise of doing a merger to save your business.

From the reports I have read, the merged team will still run Chevys. So my hope is that it will only help. Ganassi has a history of using top flight engineers, so maybe they will bring a fresh set of eyes to the table. They will have a wealth of knowledge of what Dodge has been doing to make more HP. Maybe it will help, maybe it will save time by keeping the engine program from taking steps down the wrong road. The Dodges have seemed a bit underpowered this year. So I’m sure the have a good idea of what new tricks simply don’t work.

Sure they will. The engine program was set up to produce engines and share costs through 8 teams. That is one reason DEI couldn’t afford to drop to two teams in 2009. Teresa would have still had to pay for half of ECR’s expenses.

Richard doesn’t want to fund the engine program himself. The merger allows 8 teams to once again support and benefit from the newly formed engine shop.

I don’t think it’ll have a great effect, other than they’ll make sure they put out quality stuff so they don’t have to hear it from Montoya.

from what I’ve read about it, it’s an 80/20 chance that the new EGR will run chevrolets and if that is the case then I don’t think that the ECR engine program will suffer. If however they end up usind Dodge again which is unlikely then I guess the ECR engine progr would dissolve and they would probably form some kind of similar agreement with GEM or something like that

Richard Childress will continue to supply engines as long as Teresa is involved in ownership out of respect for his deceased friend Dale SR
