In this 20 minute presentation, expert peak oil educator Tim Hudson defines the four futures after peak oil, and explains how to create a personal post peak oil profile by assigning probabilities to the four scenarios. Personal peak oil profiles are useful in both assessing one’s own current expectations for the future as well as better understanding the beliefs and expectations of others.
Tim Hudson created this talk drawing from many sources including peak oil books written by Richard Heinberg. This talk was recorded in high definition at the Conference on Michigan’s Future: Energy, Economy and Environment, held at Crystal Mountain Resort over the weekend of November 15, 2008.

TPS Academy merger a ‘catastrophe’

Toledo Public Schools is looking at all options when it comes to reducing a $30 million deficit.
One of the proposed cuts is combining Lincoln Academy for Boys and Ella P. Stewart Academy for Girls if the district’s three-quarters-percent tax levy fails on May 4.
Prudence Hicks, Lincoln Academy’s PTO president, said Wednesday that this plan wouldn’t work in the district.
“Both schools feel that it would be a catastrophe for the children who are in those schools and for the future students who might go,” she said. “Because Lincoln Academy addresses boys needs and the way they learn is different from girls.”
The school board is reviewing a list of proposed cuts it received Tuesday. It has called an April 1 meeting at 5:30 p.m. to give the time to look further at the cuts and negotiate with the unions.
