To trade in the Forex Market professionally do you need to be registered with the NFA?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I have different sources tell me yes and no. I know a lot of new bylaws have been passed to govern the Forex market and the people who trade in it. But for the ordinary person that trades for forex for friends and family do you need to be registered? Are IB and Money Managers the same thing?

Hi,

Different countries have different laws.

Generally speaking, if you’re just trading for your friends and relatives, you probably don’t need to be registered.

However, if you’re looking to trade professionally (on behalf with clients), then it’s a more complicated matter.

How do you identify the bonds in hydrocarbons?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Imagine that you are working in a lab, and you find four bottles containing hydrocarbons in the chemical storage cabinet. Outline the step-by-step procedure you would follow to identify which unknown samples have a multiple bond and which have all single bonds.

put each hydrocarbon in a beaker with bromine water (which is brown-orange, depending).. if there is a reaction it will turn colourless, which means the hydrocarbon is unsaturated/ has at least one double C=C bond.. there would be no reaction with a saturated hydrocarbon.
=) I hope this helps..X

What’s with this Nets and Mavs trade?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

First George wants to back out, now the trade might be off because Stackhouse was yapping about resting for 30 days after his buyout and waltzing back into the Mavs lineup? I’m starting to think the Mavs are going nowhere fast. How will Devon Harris perform knowing he was/is trade bait? How will George perform knowing the fans hate him for being a block, and how will management treat Stack, now that he basically threw a wrench in the whole deal?

i think that the trade is going to happen, and stackhouse is going to come back within a month. if that happened, dallas would be unstoppable. go mavs.

What is the riskiness of equities with high dividend yield and earning yields?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

according to the dividend discount model and other relevant financial models?

Please and thank you.
Sorry i meant high dividend not yields.

The dividend yield really has no effect on the riskiness of the investment. Earnings are earnings; it’s irrelevant whether the company is cutting you a check (dividends) or reinvesting them on your behalf (retained earnings.) The dividend discount model isn’t really intended to calculate risk. In fact, in the formula for the dividend discount model, the required rate of return (or risk measurement) is taken as given; it’s not what you’re solving for in the formula, usually. When using that formula for valuation you usually plug in a required rate of return from some other model (such as CAPM.)

However, a high earning yield may imply that the market perceives an investment to be risky. Basically, a high earning yield indicates that the market demands a high rate of return for investing in the asset. If the asset was perceived to be low risk, there would be a higher demand for it in the market and the price would be bid up, which would lower the earnings yield.

Generally, the appropriate model to calculate risk is the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM.) There are other multi-factor models that calculate risk, such as the Fama and French 3 Factor Model, but I’ll confess that I’m not very familiar with those. The only determinant of risk in the CAPM is beta (β), which is a measure of how volatile the stock is when compared to the market as a whole.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO YOUR ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The previous response still applies. Dividend payments, be they in actual dollar terms or in terms of a percentage yield, are irrelevant to risk.

Thesis statement about a person who ventures out to seek information about the Holocaust and finds nothing?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I am trying to construct an essay around a book that is exactly that, but I’m having some trouble. There aren’t any specific camps in the Holocaust that a character finds nothing about, but just in general.
I read Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran.

what book are you reading? and you could go on google to get more info

How do I keep my Bright Futures?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I have a Bright Futures scolarship and I think I might get a D in one of my classes. Right now my GPA is a 3.0. What are the requirements for keeping my scholarship? And if I decide to switch from my university to a community college will I still keep my schalorship?

The eligibility requirements to renew a Bright Futures Scholarship depend on the level of scholarship that you are receiving.

If you are a Florida Academic Scholar, you must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 to be renewed for the following year.

If you are a Florida Medallion Scholar, you must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 to be renewed.

A Florida Academic Scholar who does not maintain the required 3.0 GPA is automatically renewed as a Florida Medallion Scholar if their cumulative GPA falls between 2.75 and 2.99. As you are probably aware, this is a lower level of scholarship support, which pays only 75% of tuition and allowable fees each year.

No matter what type of Bright Futures scholarship a student receives – if their cumulative GPA falls below 2.75, their scholarship will be suspended. Those students have ONE opportunity to re-qualify, if they can improve their GPA to the program minimums.

Here’s one piece of good news: Summer grades can be used to meet the scholarship requirements. A student can ask the financial aid officers at his/her school to submit a grade update to the Bright Futures scholarship. If your cumulative GPA falls below 3.0, and you want to maintain your Florida Academic Scholars support, you may want to attend summer school courses, in order to regain your eligibility for 100% aid for next year.

The other option is to drop to Medallion level, where you would still receive 100% of tuition and fees for any community college, however the Medallion scholarship does not include the $375 annual award for "college-related expenses".

I hope that helped. Good luck to you.

What are specific industries that will benefit from global growth? BHP and RTP merger effects?

Friday, October 30th, 2009

What industries will see good growth for the future and serve the global economy (not just the U.S) What the effects of BHP and RTP? Will BHP possibly shoot up if it’s merger is complete because of the benefits it will receive from the merger?

BHP and RTP have been going up for the last year or two; normally one has to be cautious concerning mergers, need we only look back to such things as the much ballyhooed AOL/Time Warner debackle.

BHP and RTP both look solid and I think this will be a good merger, even despite todays selloff in the gold market; long term prospects in basic materials looks strong as China demand and world population increase.

BHP seems to be a good stock, but don’t trade it, buy and hold it for the long term, that being 7+ years or so, you should do fine.

how genuine is automated forex trading? or is it another scams on the net?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

i intend to buy automated forex trading software to use for online forex trading but i am having doubt it may be another internet scams.

First, you should know that Forex is not that easy. Do not believe those who may say it is!
There are some good robots that MAY help you. Some are scam. Others are for real.

Simply put, a Forex robot is a program that attempts to take the guess work out of trading currencies. Currently there is a lot of information floating around the internet about these products. Like any other tool, it needs to be used properly in order to be most effective.

Like I hinted, in order to use this tool the right way you need to understand a little bit about how it works and where it is best applied.

A Forex robot is a computer or computer program that monitors currencies and does calculations to figure out the best time to buy and sell. These programs help to take some of the guess work out of buying and selling and can help a trader to identify currencies that meet certain criteria, or when certain currencies perform in certain a way. Most of the selling points of Forex robots state that you can simply set them and watch the cash come pouring in. While in some cases this may work, in most cases you are going to need to carefully monitor the program and make sure that it is adjusting to trends in the market. While they can be very profitable they may require a certain amount of intervention to be run effectively. Used properly, and if you have the patience to get to know the programs, they become a powerful tool.

For this automatic approach, this website has worked wonders for me: http://www.forexapt.com/ – forex auto pilot turbo. It offers, among other features, high spread protection system and automated risk scaling. They say "95% winner". Well, only the bottom line counts (you may be a "95% winner" and still lose money!). In this regard, it has really delivered for me.

I had been watching the forex robot market for months, waiting for the right software to come out. I believe I have found a great one.

All the best!

What is the secret to successful forex trading?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

A complete newbie to forex trading, I am having difficulties figuring out where to look for information, but also what exactly to look for. Commodities? Bank quarterly results?

Well you could take courses on US and World economics, read some financial economies books and/or know when and the fundamental news that affects price swings are reported. Stay clear during these volatile times because they can take out your stop in a heartbeat and a few beats later go back the other way. And remember that the news could already be mostly priced into the current price. If you are looking for the best forex software, visit this site
